Season of Creation, from East Timor

We share the Season of Creation activities conducted in East Timor. It highlights the various initiatives we organized, emphasizing environmental awareness and community engagement in caring for our common home.

Our English learning students composed and sang a song to bring awareness about creation.

Thank you very much!!!

Small but consistent steps towards change

 from Timor-Leste
Newsletter

The journey of caring for our common home at RJM Kasait, Timor Leste, began with small but consistent steps towards change.

In this newsletter we would like to share these small initiatives that are being taken to make Laudato Si a lived reality, in collaboration with the Jesuit Social Service in Timor Leste and other collaborators.

Care for our common home

The entire universe reflects the Glory of God and indeed our hearts are moved to hear the invitation of God to ponder and admire the mighty miracles of God’s handiworks.

The RJM sisters of Timor-Leste, have pledged to save Our Mother Earth with the following concrete steps.

Rainwater is harvested and used for our gardens

We have installed solar panels

Planted 300 plants,
250 in the local communities
and 50 in our compound

Organic vegetables are grown
in our farm garden

Papers are recycled and we have banned plastic bags
by using just cloth bags for our shopping

We celebrated Laudato si' week

from East Timor
Vice-Province of Kolkata

"Thus began an ongoing dialogue that involves continuous prayer, reflection, assessment and action. We felt impelled by the encyclical towards an ecological conversion and integral ecology. We embraced the transformative visions of our dear Claudine and other ancestors in faith to incarnate a lived response in our way of being RJMs, both at personal and communal levels. Thus, we sought out concrete ways to live Laudato si every day".
